Introduction to Jubelife City

When arriving at Jubelife city, the first thing you will run into of course will be Dawn. She has a habit of being a serious annoyance. She will ask you about how many Pokemon you’ve  captured. And you both proceed towards the inner circle of Jubelife.

As you move into town you and Dawn meet one of the brand new character to Pokemon Platinum. Looker is his name and he is basically a Pokemon Secret agent. He informs you of his mission, and that if you see anything suspicious to let him know. After your introductions Looker leaves, and Dawn soon leaves thereafter.

Now remember your main mission was to go to Jubelife to try and find your rival so you can deliver the “Parcel” Your rival is actually at the Pokemon School. When you go inside you will give him his parcel, and inside are Two maps. Your rival obviously does not need Two, so he gives you one. (Isn’t that so nice of him). He then rushes off, If you go into the left hand corner you will notice a pokeball on the ground, open it and you will find an xdefend.

After leaving out of the school you can walk around a bit. If you head north you will run into your next Pokemon based event while in Jubelife. Standing in the center of town will be the CEO of the Poketch company. Basically a Poketch is watch type application that shows time, and can do other cool things. In order to get one you’ve got to walk around jubelife and find 3 clowns, and answer there questions. Each clows gives you a ticket.

Clown 1

If you go the right of CEO thats where the first one will be.

Clown 2

If you go north and then make a left you will run into clown 2.

Clown 3

Keep going left and you can’t miss the final clown.

After talking to all three clowns and getting the quesitons right you get all 3 coupons, allowing you to get your poketch.

With the poketch obtained you head up north to get into a few pokemon battles.

Route 204

This route is rather short especially right now because you can’t really progess much further. You can get into two pokemon battles. If you want to go further you need the HM move “Rock Smash”.

Leaving Sandgem Town

So after being given the pokedex, and learning of your mission in life “seeing all the pokemon in sinnoh”. Your advised to go tell your mother than you are leaving. So you have to go back to twinleaf. You might be thinking I’ll just continue on and I will just end up continuing on the nex route. But if you do you will bee in for a suprise

Route 202

So if you descide to not go back to twinleaf right away, you can go to the right and head straight, and you will come to Rout 202. The problem is that when you reach Route 202 without going to see your mom, you guessed it! Dawn blocks you and tells you have to go to twinleaf. You can choose to avoid all the tall grass when heading back home by hopping the ledges, if you do go home by walking through the grass it’s a good idea to go the Sandgem Pokemon center before you head back.

Route: 201 to Twinleaf

As I said earlier you can save time heading back to Twinlead by hopping over the logs that generally block the path. I reccomend you hop the logs as opposed to walking through the grass.

Once you go back home your mom will end of giving you the key item Journal, it basically records your actions so you don’t forget what you’ve done incase you don’t remember or haven’t play for a while. Just as your converation with your mother end, your rivals mother enters the house. Apparently your rival left town without telling his mother and forgot something important. She asked you if you can deliver it for her to him. She tell you that she thinks he is headed Jube Life City. Luckily for you the travel route to Jube Life, is through sandgem after route 202. So just head back to where you were before.

Route 202

When you get to route 202 you are going to run into dawn again. But this time she stops you because you don’t know how to capture pokemon. She guides you through the process through a very simple in game tutorial. Her method isn’t the best per say, but it works. If you need a better guide you can read my how to catch a pokemon tutorial. After she catches her pokemon she gives you five pokeballs.

Now that you’ve got your Pokeballs, you can capture some pokemon. If I were you I’d go to the Pokemart and buy a few potions. If you continue along route 202 you will come across a trainer as your continue to move foward. This will be your first pokemon battle.

After batteling this trainer you can continue along the route and you will encounter another trainer. If the previous batle was easy this next one should be the same.

With that second battle out of the way as you travel you are going to come across more and more grass pathes. Then just as you get ready to leave the Route 202 area you come accross another pokemon trainer. This is the last one before you get to Jubelife.

With the final battle complete you can on up to Jubelife City. This is where this tutorial ends, as we will have a lot more to cover as time goes on.

Jubelife City Guide

Varity Lake Front

After realising you have no pokeballs, your rival rushes off to see Rowan. You have to find your way to his laboratory in sandgem. While leaving the Varity Lake Front you continue to head left down route 201.

Location: Route 201

You can continue to travel along Route 201 for a bit, as you continue to move throughout the area you will walk accross some random grass. Therefore you will run into some wild pokemon. You can battle them, and your pokemon will get stronger. If your pokemon gets too low in health you can go back to twinleaf for a rest.

Location: Route: 201 to Sandgem

Wild Pokemon Starly Lv: 2-3 60% Bidoof Lv: 2-3 40%

With your pokemon healed, you can continue on your journey to Sandgem Town. As you walk along the path there is one partinular individual that you should talk to. He will offer you a free potion. He is someone that works at the local pokemart. This is definetly a freebie thats worth grabbing especially at this part of the game.

When you finally do make it to sandgem town the first person you run into no doubt is dawn. You and her proceed to the Lab, and you bump into your rival. He rushes off as quickly as ever.

Once inside the Pokemon Lab you are walked up to the profesor. He begins by examing your Pokemon, seeing how well you’ve treated it. He deduces that giving you your pokemon was a good decision, and that your new pokemon looks happy. You are then given the chance to name your pokemon.

Professor Rowan winds up teeling you that he has a favor to ask of you. He wants you to basically travel around sinnoh and collect data on all the Pokemon you see with the High tech pokemon enyclopedia known as the Pokedex. He gives you a Pokedex and sends you on your way. As you leave the Lab following dawn Rowan stops you. Give you a special item, TM 27 Return

Dawn then proceeds to educate on the world of pokemon by teaching you about Pokemon Centers, and the Pokemarts often found in towns in sinnoh. Dawn then tells you need to tell your mother that you are leaving.

Back to Twinleaf!

Introduction

To begin pokemon platinum you’ve first got to obtain the game. When loading it you will come to familiar logo, and the usual game freak information etc. After waiting a couple of minutes you will see the Pokemon Platinum Welcome Screen. This customized screen is red, when ready press start to begin your journey.

If you have every played a pokemon game before than you are familiar with what comes next. Basically you will be greeted by this games pokemon professor (Rowan). Rowan will introduce you to the DS style game play, and allow you to familiarize yourself with the controls. He tell you about the pokemon universe, why we use pokemon in battle, how some have them as pets, and etc. You also get the chance to test out the touch screen features of the DS wich are pretty well needed for this game.

The Professor will ask you whether you are a boy or a girl, you have the liberty of choosing wichever you like. A key difference from Pokemon Diamond and platinum in this particular area of the game is that the choosable characters are in newer outfits. The clothes they are wearing have more a winter feel to them than the previous games. Next comes the part where you get to pick your name. You used to be able to choose from several of the preprogrammed names but now you have to manually write your own.

The Game Starts

Twinleaf

After listening to Rowan tell you more and more about the game you finally shruken into game sprite mode and the game officially begins.

You start by viewing the ending of a Pokemon television show that is giving information about the red gyrados and mentions professor Rowans return from the Kanto region back to the Sinnoh region. After that momment you proceed to move and your Rival appears. He is excited as usual and wants you and him to go find Professor Rowan so you can get pokemon. He wants you to meet him outside. After talking to your mon head outside of the house and experience twinleaf. If you go to the left of your house and go up you will be at your rivals home. He will bump into you. After listening to him chatter on go up to his room, and proceed to leave twinleaf.

Route 201

As you head out of town to begin your search for professor Rowan, you see your rival and you proceed to head for Sandgem town foolishly without pokemon you.. you are stopped by no one other than profesor rowan. He reminds that going out into the wilderness without pokemon is a bad idea. And suggest that you and your rival need pokemon companions. He thinks that you both don’t deserve his pokemon as you were foolish enough to go out in the wild without any. Inlight of the situation you meet dawn, and she brings the professors briefcase.

Within it are the pokemon that you will be choosing from.

The starter pokemon in this game are:
Turtwig: Grass Pokemon
Chimchar: Fire Pokemon
Piplup: Water Pokemon

Each of theme has their own strengths and weaknesses. Whichever pokemon you decide to choose your rival will the pokemon that’s strong against it. And Dawn will have the last one.

After choosing your Pokemon Professor Rowan and Dawn will head back the Sandgem town. Basically leaving you and your rival alone. Your rival will suggest it’s time for a battle, and the first pokemon battle in Pokemon Platinum will begin.

Whether you win or lose this battle the story will continue. Normally if you loose a battle you will be sent to a pokemon center. After the battle is finished both you and your rival go home. The next day you see yourself in your mothers kitchen, she tell you that you should go thank professor rowan. And that it is ok to go into the grass now that you have your very own pokemon. To make the job of getting to sandgem town easier your mother gives you the running shoes. As you proceed to leave town you happen to run into your rival again, and this time he tells you he is going to see rowan.

It just so happends that before you decide to go to sandgem your rival says that you all should go to lakeview front to capture a rare pokemon and show it off to Rowan.

Verity Lakefront

You can access Lake Verity by going to left where route 201 branches into two directions. Your rival is following you, if you you just follow the available path it will lead you directly to the lake enterance. There should be an opening, just follow through it.

When you arive at the lake you notice a strange fellow talking about taking control. It is Cyrus, he will become more important as the story continues. He leaves the lake, after that your rival hears a sound. He thinks it’s the legendary pokemon and realizes that neither of you have any Pokeballs. So your current task is to get to sandgem town….
